Objective

Student - Gains competencies to implement gaming in youth work. - Understands phenomena related to gaming cultures. - Learns to support the well-being of gaming youth. - Learns to support young people towards being gaming literate. - Acquires skills to promote equality in gaming-related youth work activities. - Critically evaluates their own relationship to gaming and gaming cultures.

Content

During the course, the focus is on game education and being gaming literate as concepts. Additionally, factors influencing the well-being of gaming youth and various ways of gaming in youth work are explored. The age rating legislation related to digital games becomes familiar to students. The theme of equality runs as a common thread throughout the course. The emphasis in the course is on digital gaming.
