Objective

Students - understand easy Finnish texts in written and spoken language - are aware of basic differences between written and spoken Finnish - can produce a moderate number of words and sentences in both spoken and written Finnish - manage simple discussions and everyday situations in Finnish - learn the basic grammatical structures and special characteristics of the Finnish language - familiarize themselves with Finnish culture

Content

Students familiarize themselves with common Finnish phrases and learn basic vocabulary and grammar to manage everyday situations in Finnish. The course establishes the foundation for studying the Finnish language and culture. The intended learning outcomes equal reference level A1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Level Learner, CEFR A1
