Objective

Students - Recognize the diversity and pluralism of society and communities and can professionally assess their own relation to them. - Are able to recognize and assess structures and actions that hinder or support diversity. - Are familiar with the legislative basis of non-discrimination, human rights and equality and able to implement these in their professional practice. - Are able to recognize special needs that arise from the diversity of people and workplace communities and, acknowledging these,can promote accessibility, occupational safety and the accommodation of working conditions. - Learn skills for professional intercultural interaction and integration.

Content

- The concepts of diversity, pluralism, multiculturalism, accessibility, equality and non-discrimination - international human rights treaties, national legislation, especially Equality Act, Non-Discrimination Act and Accessibility Directive - planning of equality and non-discrimination, Equality and Non-Discrimination Plan - structures and actions supporting or hindering diversity in the world of work and in society

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Satisfactory 1-2 Student recognizes to some extent their own professional role in promoting diversity and pluralism in society and communities. Student is familiar with the key concepts of the course and the legal basis for the promotion of human rights, non-discrimination and equality. Student aims to apply what they have learned and act in a way that promotes diversity and equity However, the application and evaluation of student's own learning is limited.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Good 3-4 Student recognizes their own professional role in promoting diversity and pluralism in society and communities. Student has a good understanding of the key concepts of the course and the legal basis for promoting human rights, non-discrimination and equality. Student is able to apply what they have learned and act in a way that promotes diversity and equity. Student is able to evaluate their own learning well.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent 5 Student is well aware of their professional role in promoting diversity and pluralism in society and communities. Student has an excellent knowledge of the key concepts of the course and of the legal basis for promoting human rights, non-discrimination and equality. Student is able to apply their learning in multiple ways and to act in a way that promotes diversity and equality. Student is able to evaluate their own learning in a profound way.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Failed (0). The student has not completed all the tasks of the course successfully or within the agreed deadlines.
