Objective

Hospital or Orthotic therapy lab training

You acquire practical experience of podiatry care principles.
You learn about the operational environment of podiatric and multidisciplinary cooperation.
Whenever possible, you get to know other professionals and experts operating in same environment and their work.
Training either in a hospital or orthotics lab unit (The aims are chosen according to the training place)

Hospital practice

You master the podiatric needs and care of special groups and you are able to evaluate and follow the results of the treatment.
You understand the principles of treatment of foot ulcers and the different stages of patient care process.
You can give individual guidance to the patient, taking into account the patient's overall well-being and home care circumstances.
You understand the importance of footwear, special aids and offloading.
You understand the importance and meaning of multi-professional collaboration, both from the patient's and the medical staff's perspective.

Orthotics lab practice

You know how the orthotics lab unit operates.
You deepen your knowledge of various matters related to aids, orthotics, footwear and prostheses.
You know the acquisition processes of special footwear and orthotics and deepen your skills in giving individual instructions to the client or patient about the use of aids.
You make insoles in orthotics lab by different manufacturing techniques.
You use all possibilities to cherish multi-professional collaboration in the orthotics lab.
