Objective

You understand the operation of electrical networks in terms of controlled loads, production and variable production.
You are familiar with the use of batteries in transmission and distribution networks.
You recognize the possibilities of network automation in terms of the flexible operation of smart grids.
You know the different electrical energy storage technologies, their advantages and their limitations in terms of electrical networks.
You know how to choose the right storage technologies for electrical networks.

How to combine electricity production and consumption into a functional system?
How can batteries work in different parts of networks?
How can automation be used to connect components that are important for the operation of networks?
How can electricity be stored and what applications the storages are suitable for?
How to compare storage methods and find their main advantages and disadvantages?

Accomplishment methods

Students can:
a) use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b) assess information sources critically.
e) choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
