Objective
You know the main concepts of biorefineries using different biofeedstocks and the role of them in increasing renewable energy production and preventing climate change. You know the most important bioproduct refining processes and their main stages.
You are familiar with the processes of separating lignin, hemicellulose, and extractives in a pulp mill.
You understand the potential and targets of future biorefineries related to developing new bioproducts, such as biofibrils, lignin-based products, biochemicals, bioplastics and biocomposites.
Content
What kind of biofuels can be produced of biofeedstocks?
What are the process steps in different biorefinery concepts? What are the main process parameters, chemical reactions and changes?
What byproducts can be generated in the refineries of forest industry integrations? What are the properties of the byproducts?
What are nanocellulose and microcellulose?
Qualifications
