Objective

You learn about climate science, the status of changing climate and how it is developing over time. You also learn about the impact of climate change and how to study climate change. In addition, you study what governments and organizations, such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are doing, and become aware of your role and responsibilities in terms of climate change. Finally, you learn to apply climate change projection models to discuss its impact on environment and develop arguments on climate skepticism.

What is climate change projection and how to model it?

What is the impact of climate change on ecosystems and cultural services?

How to adapt to and mitigate climate change?

How does the policy outlook related to climate change look like?

Evaluation

Students can
a. use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
b. assess information sources critically.
e. choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
g. apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations.
