Objective

 Planned maintenance and its properties. Planning of preventive maintenance, surveys, spare parts, and budgeting. Management of  planned maintenance. Safety on board, legislation, and adoption of safe working procedures. Observation of general guidance during maintenance and repair, and the risks involved. Procedures in Hot Work and Enclosed Spaces.

Content

Planned maintenance in general, basic course with AMOS Planned Maintenance System. Safety onboard, safe working procedures, different measurements to be made to ensure safety. Precautions, work permits, and procedures. Management of maintenance and repair. Finnish Legislation concerned.Safety card certificate.

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule.

Independent track:
You attend your study in the multi-mode education. Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.

Blended track:
Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.

Timing of exams and assignments

Registration to any general exams has to be agreed with the lecturer and exams are to be completed according degree regulation.

Study module includes AMOS-software user training. 100% participation required to AMOS-training.
