Pedagogical competence and pedagogical development (5 cr)

Objective

You can analyze extensively and proficiently youth work and it´s educational forms from the perspectives of social pedagogy, experiental education, and guidance and councelling.
You can use extensively and proficiently concepts of pedagogical competence and pedagogical development.
You can recognize educational and guidance and councelling development areas in field of youth work and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and you know how to develop the theory-based applications in a field.

What kind of pedagogical competencies are required in development of NGOs and youth work?
What kinds of developmental possibilities social pedagogical, experiential education, and guidance and counselling can give to NGO and youth work?
How can work organizations or professional field be developed by using theoretical knowledge of guidance and counseling and pedagogy?

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opetus toteutetaan kolmena intensiivilähipäivänä. Lähipäiven välissä toteutetaan työelämään integroituva pedagoginen tai ohjauksellinen kehittämistehtävä,.

Opintoja nopeuttava oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso on mahdollista suorittaa tutustumalla alan tutkimukseen ja teoriaan sekä suunnittelemalla ja toteuttamalla pedagogisen tai ohjauksellisen kehittämistehtävän omalla työpaikalla.

Työhön integroitu oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso on mahdollista suorittaa itsenäisesti tutustumalla alan tutkimukseen ja teoriaan sekä suunnittelemalla ja toteuttamalla pedagogisen tai ohjauksellisen kehittämistehtävän.

Student workload

24 tuntia lähiopetusta + 111 tuntia itsenäistä työtä.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a. You are able to gather, process, produce and critically evaluate the knowledge and professional methods related to the field of NGO and youth work.
b. You are able to solve demanding challenges in the workplace or professional field using pedagogical development activities.
c. You can independently develop and present pedagogical solutions to the problems discussed in the field of youth work.

Osaat käyttää asiantuntevasti pedagogisia ammattikäsitteitä eri tilanteissa.
Osaat arvioida käyttämiään tietolähteitä kriittisesti .
Osaat työskennellä tiimin jäsenenä pedagogiikan ja ohjauksen asiantuntija-tehtävissä työelämässä sekä huomata ja kuvata ammattialan ongelmia .
Osaat arvioida toimintaasi erilaisissa pedagogisissa ja ohjauksellisissa tilanteissa .
Osaat valita tarkoituksenmukaiset menetelmät tilannekohtaisesti ja perustella valinnan .
Osaat edistää tiimin toimintaa pedagogisesti.
Osaat soveltaa kriittisesti oman alan eettisiä periaatteita eri tilanteissa.
