Objective
• use of business English vocabulary actively
• use of business vocabulary in presentations, meetings and negotiations with self-confidence
• finding information and applying it in different work-related communication situations
Content
English vocabulary and particular grammatical structures in business contexts
• international trade, commerce, marketing as well as finance, insurance and banking
• presentations and pitching
• meetings and negotiations
• professional business communication, spoken and written
Course material
All the material is available in Learn: learn.xamk.fi
The students get the key for the course after their registration in the university system Peppi.
Timing of exams and assignments
The student has to finish at least 75% of the tasks in order to complete the course. The exam is also in Learn and is done at the end of the course independently.
Student workload
The course is 3 ECTS which means 66 hours of independent studies. It is essential that students are responsible for their time management regarding the tasks in the course.

Written business communication, business messages
Giving presentations and feedback
Marketing
Meetings and negotiations
