Objective

- are familiar with the principals of sustainable furniture design
- master the methods, tools, and presentations used in furniture design
- know modern and durable furniture types and the basic structures used in them
- can make drawings for assembly and components of a piece of furniture

Content

- How to make furniture design in line with the principles of sustainability?
- What are the most common tools, methods and representations of furniture design?
- What are the features of contemporary furniture and what are the typical structures and materials
- How to create feasible production drawings

Study forms and methods

Xamk offers its students an opportunity to pursue studies flexibly to suit their various life situations. Students can choose between three learning routes: a learning route based on a working week, a learning route that accelerates the studies, and a work-based learning route.

A learning route based on a working week:
The contact teaching will be arranged on Fridays and on Saturdays approximately every second week.

Student workload

5cr is 135h where contact teaching is 70h and independence working is 65h

The planning project will be carried out with a customer in the study module.
