Objective

Knowledge, understanding and proficiency
- cargo operations between tankers and terminals
- to calculate liquid cargoes and plan cargo procedures
- of basic principles on interactions between ship and terminal

Content

Liquid cargo properties and terminology. Cargo planning, segregation and calculations. Excercises and simulations regarding different types of tankers and terminals including on-site excursions when possible.

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule.
Lectures, learning tasks and training tasks.

Blended track:
Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active participation, approved learning tasks and NAPA exercise.

- Basic training for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations BTTP (A-V/1-1-1)

Meets the requirements of STCW section A-II/2 (and A-II/1) regarding function: cargo handling, as per description.
