Objective

-You are able to write and speak in English in key communication situations.
-You are able to use various tools of learning English, for example in writing and improving pronunciation and vocabulary skills.
-You improve your language learning skills.

Content

- What are the key structures of English that you need in your work?
- How do you respond in typical spoken communication situations?
- How do you write short texts in English?
- How do you improve your pronunciation and vocabulary skills and describe events in the correct tense?
- How do you develop your language learning skills and use related tools efficiently?

The material is provided by the teacher on Open Learn learning platform.

Course part description

The course consists of the following elements:
1. Opening starting webinar (also to be recorded)
2. Online webinars which aim to increase students' interaction skills (not to be recorded)
3. Online materials to be studied independently.
4. Online tasks with automatic feedback.
5. Online tasks, both written and spoken, on which the student gains feedback from the teacher.

Further information

Participation requires internet connection with audio connection and possibility to use microphone.

Evaluation scale

1-5

Assessment methods and criteria

The grade Excellent (5) requires display of predominantly skills at level B2. Grades 3-4 (Good) skills at levels B1.2, and grades 1-2 (Satisfactory) skills at levels B1.1. Grade 0 is failure.

Please note the difference in the scale compared with the Russian system. All grades 1 and above it are pass grades.
