Objective
Acknowledge, understanding and proficiency of:
different ship machinery design, functions and structures including special requirements for ship machinery operations.
Content
Shaftline components, propellers and propulsors, gears, couplings, pressurised air systems, lubrication and fuel systems, cooling systems, deck machinery, steering gear, heating, ventilation and water systems.
Ship's auxiliary systems and equipment.
Accepted and/or conducted Ship Machinery 1 is required as a preceding study.
Study forms and methods
Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule.
Independent track:
You attend your study in the multi-mode education. Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.
