Basic health promotion and nutrition (5 cr)

Objective

Health promotion
You understand the basis and levels of health and welfare promotion.
You recognize the protective and strengthening factors of individual and community health and global health threats and challenges.
You can search and apply statistical information about the welfare of the population and draw conclusions about public health.
You understand the possibilities of welfare technology in health promotion.
You understand the consequence of health inequalities in the population and you can affect them.
You understand the ethical principles of health promotion.

Nutrition
You know how to apply Finnish nutrition and treatment recommendations for different age and target groups in preventing and nursing national diseases.
You know how to integrate nutritional care and guidance into comprehensive nursing in cooperation with a network of multisectoral experts.
You can take into account sustainable development and ethics in nutritional care and guidance.
You can assess the nutritional status of a customer/patient and refer the customer/patient in the risk of malnutrition to an expert.

Study forms and methods

Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Yleisen terveyden edistämisen osuus ( 3op) sisältää lähiopetusta (kampuksella ja verkossa), itsenäistä opiskelua ja oppimistehtäviä sekä seminaariopetusta.

Ravitsemus ja ravitsemusohjauksen (2 op) osuuden opintosisällöt opiskellaan itsenäisesti Learnin materiaalinen avulla, laatimalla oppimistehtäviä ja suorittamalla verkkotentti.

Ravitsemus ja ravitsemusohjaus 2 op on opiskelijan työmääränä 54 tuntia.

Assessment methods and criteria

Yleisen terveyden edistämisen osuus (3 op):
- oppimistehtävien suorittaminen määräaikojen puitteissa
- numeerisesti arvioitavan tehtävän suorittaminen määräpäivään mennessä - tehtävän arviointikriteerit annetaan tehtävän yhteydessä

Ravitsemus- ja ravitsemusohjauksen osuus (2 op):
- oppimistehtävien suorittaminen määräaikaan mennessä, arviointi hyväksytty/täydennettävää/hylätty. Tehtävien arviointikriteerit annetaan tehtävän yhteydessä.
- verkkotentti arvioidaan numeraalisesti 1-5 hyväksytyn suorituksen osalta ja kaksi uusintaverkkomahdollisuutta. Hyväksyttyyn suoritukseen 50 % oikein.
