Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- maintaining seaworthiness of the ship
- basics of hydrostatics
- calculate stability and trim with different cargo situations
- effect of free surface liquids to ships stability

Content

- waterline agreement
- basics of effect of free surface liquids

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
You will attend teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Teaching in class: Ship stability and buoyancy basics. The calculations in class and practical training in the computer class (the NAPA program of getting acquainted).

Independent track:
Degree of Deck Officer, operational level (STCW A-II/1) OR Degree of Engineer Officer, operational level (STCW A-III/1) OR Certificate of Competency: Deck Officer / Engineer Officer IS REQUIRED.

Blended track:
Discussion with the teacher and, where appropriate, PSP-planning with your own mentor teacher.

RDI and work-related cooperation

There are no ECTS points for RDI or working life co-operation in the course.

Further information

Completion of the course requires 100% attendance, training tacks and intermediate exams execution.
