Objective
Learning the practical skills and completing approved simulator training based on prior STCW table A-II/1 studies.
Content
Supervised simulator exercises based on prior studies in the following subject areas:
- navigation in open sea and traffic separation schemes
- ship manoeuvring and handling
- bridge watchkeeping
- navigation in coastal waters and restricted visibility
- navigation in restricted waters
- respond to distress signals and emergencies
Course material
Exercise book and other materials by instructor.
Study forms and methods
Scheduled track:
Attendance at teaching and guidance sessions as specified in the schedule. Attendance at simulator training and completion of simulator exercises.
Independent track:
Attendance at on board training and completion of substitute on board exercises.
Blended track:
Not possible.
RDI and work-related cooperation
Course can possibly include cooperation with RDI and working life.

Assessment methods and criteria
Participation in all simulator training sessions and approved completion of simulator exercises. Alternatively, attendance at on board training and approved completion of substitute on board exercises.
