Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- general maintenance of marine diesel engines, safe working procedures for maintenance
- component tolerance measurements and condition evaluation
Content
Hands on overhaul, measurement and testing training at diesel engine laboratory: Piston and cylinder liner, main bearings, cylinder cover, valves, valve seats and guides, connecting rod, injection pump, injector testing, connecting rod lower end bearing measurements, crank shaft measurements, injection timing measurements, bearing measurements and visual inspection for scuffing, fretting and pitting. Cavitation and erosion in engine parts, NDT-testing of components.
