How to look for information in professional sources in English and how to apply this information?
How to interact in spoken communication situations in English and how to draw up texts in English for professional purposes?
How to communicate in study-related situations and work communities in English?

Working week-based learning way:
The student participates in the instruction set out in the timetable.

Speaking exam will be held on the last lecture. Written exam will be held in EXAM.

Further information

The teaching of the course is mainly in English. Finnish is used as a support language. The course studies the key English vocabulary of your professional field as well as the vocabulary usually needed in communication situations in working life, and develops communication skills for working life. Students can influence the vocabulary included in the course through the choice of topics in group projects and assignments.

Assessment methods and criteria

The grade for the course is an average of the assignments and exams. Possible resits are to be agreed with the teacher.

Qualifications

If you have been instructed to participate in the Intensive course in English, you must complete it or independently acquire the equivalent knowledge and skills before you can participate in this course.
