Objective

- you can observe and analyse three-dimensionality
- you understand the most important concepts of three-dimensional composition
- you understand the structure and functions of the human body in terms of plastic composition (sculpture)
- you can use the common materials of plastic composition (such as clay and plaster)
- you can apply the principles of three-dimensional composition to the design tasks of your own field

Content

How to perceive the three-dimensional world?
What are the basic principles of three-dimensional composition?
Which materials and techniques should I use when studying three-dimensional forms?
How do I create captivating and interesting forms?
How can I utilise my artistic understanding in my profession?

Exercises relevant to the professional field, associated with the Art and design history, Fine arts and Formgiving courses.

Study forms and methods

Xamk offers its students an opportunity to pursue studies flexibly to suit their various life situations. Students can choose between three learning routes: a learning route based on a working week, a learning route that accelerates the studies, and a work-based learning route.

Further information

On the contact lessons of the course lectures are held and learning assignments are conducted. The learning tasks subject to the evaluation are carried out partly on a guided lessons and partly independent studying time according to the given schedule.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral and, in some rare cases, written feedback, self-assessment, reflection and peer review are used as a method of evaluation.
The criteria for the assessment have been clarified in the context of the assignments based on the curriculum.
Active participation is important.
