You acquaint yourself with the legislation, instructions and service systems in early childhood and youth education.
You understand the significance of the child- and youth-centered approach as an educational paradigm.
You know main areas of learning and understand the significance of learning environment in pedagogical planning.
You are able to use appropriate methods to support children's and adolescents’ growth.

Study forms and methods
Varhaiskasvatus: varhaiskasvatuksen yksi osatehtävä on leikin havainnointitehtävä, jonka opiskelija sopii työelämän kanssa lukujärjestyksen ulkopuolelta.
Nuorisokasvatus:
Opintojaksolla perehdytään luento-opetuksen, ryhmätyöskentelyn ja case-työskentelyn/workshop-työskentelyn avulla nuorisokasvatuksen elementteihin. Nuorisovaltuuston kokouksen seuraaminen, työn vaikuttavuuden arviointia.
