Basics of clinical nursing and Preclinical training (9 cr)

Objective

The nursing process
You know how to create a good care relationship.
You can systematically monitor and evaluate the patient's well-being.
You can report according to the ISBAR protocol.
You will master the basic knowledge and skills about the key help methods needed in nursing.
You will master the basic knowledge and skills of the key diagnostic tests required in nursing.
You will be able to respond to the patient's need for care by applying key methods of assistance.
You master the key principles of pain monitoring and assessment.
You will master the basics of basic resuscitation and using a lay defibrillator.
You recognize the signs of impending death and know how to implement post-mortem treatment.
You know how to face and care for a dying patient and support his or her loved ones.

Aseptic operation
You know the principles of infection control and know how to apply your knowledge when implementing infection control.
You know the disadvantages of infections at the individual level.
You know the economic impact of infections on society.

The nursing process
How do you take into consideration the values and ethical principles of nursing in your work?
How do collegiality and teamwork advance nursing?
How do you create a good care relation?
How do you use the ABCDE protocol to assess patient well-being?
How do you use the NEWS criteria in the early identification of disorders of basic organ functions?
How do you report according to the ISBAR protocol?
How do you implement nursing need assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing planning, implementation, and evaluation of results?
What are the theoretical grounds of key primary care and nursing interventions?
What are the theoretical grounds of key diagnostic studies?
What are the key methods for monitoring and assessing pain?
What are the theoretical foundations for basic resuscitation and the use of a lay defibrillator?
What are the theoretical foundations for the care of a dying patient, the illegal encounter of the deceased, and the encounter of relatives?

Aseptic operation
What are the mechanisms of infectious diseases, the defence system of the body and the means of preventive means of infectious diseases?
What are the principles of the aseptic work, standard precautions, and precautionary measures?
What are the principles of aseptic work, standard precautions, and precautionary categories? What are the disadvantages and costs of infections at the individual and societal level?

Study forms and methods

Ilmoittautuessasi tälle opintojakson toteutukselle osallistut työjärjestyksen mukaiseen opetukseen ja ohjaukseen. Opiskelusi rytmittyy työjärjestyksen mukaisten lähiteoriatuntien ja harjoitustiuntiena sekä itsenäisesti tehtävien oppimistehtävien mukaan.

Terveysalan ammattitutkinnon omaava voi suorittaa harjoittelut AHOT-menettelyllä (osaamisen näyttö). AHOTointi sille osoitettuna ajankohtana. AHOT = Aiemmin hankitun osaamisen tunnistaminen ja tunnustaminen.

Student workload

Opiskelijan työmäärä teoriaopetuksessa on (5 x 27 tuntia), joka koostuu lähiopetuksesta, itsenäisestä aiheeseen tutustumisesta ja ryhmätyöskentelystä. Lisäksi opintojaksolle sisältyy harjoitustunteja (4 x 27 tuntia), jotka toteutetaan ryhmätyöskentelynä harjoitustiloissa.
