Tavoitteet
Tunnet tietoliikenneverkon toimintaperiaatteen, lähiverkon laitteet, tiedonsiirtomedian tyypit sekä verkkojen yleiset kaapelointitavat.
Tunnet OSI- ja TCP/IP-mallin protokollat ja IP-osoitteistuksen sekä aliverkotuksen periaatteet.
Osaat suunnitella ja toteuttaa yksinkertaisen lähiverkon, tehdä reitittimien ja kytkimien perusasetukset.

Mistä osista lähiverkot koostuvat?
Miksi lähiverkoissa käytetään useita protokollia?
Millaisia ominaisuuksia eri tyyppisillä kaapeleilla tai langattomilla verkoilla on?
Kuinka suunnitella ja toteuttaa yksinkertainen lähiverkkoratkaisu?
Kuinka tehdään asetukset pienen lähiverkon reitittimiin ja kytkimiin ja ratkaistaan mahdolliset vikatilanteet?

The course consists of lectures (not compulsory but highly recommended), home assignments (help to understand the theory), labs (practical tasks to learn configuring the devices) and practice exams (web based multiple-choice exams).
