Objective

You are able to study efficienly in digital environments. You know how to use Microsoft Office tools and other software needed during your studies. You are able to search for environmental information online and assess the reliability of the sources used. You understand what is copyright and know how to respect it.

Content

How to study in digital environments? How to use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and other software in your studies? How to study online and what kind of software do I need? How to use sources and to remember copyright? How to use the web and email in working life and during your studies? Where can you find reliable environmental information?

Course material

Materials are provided in the Learn -system at the beginning of the course, online materials.

Material is prepared using Windows (Mac users notice this!)

Three evaluated bigger tasks and smaller (pass/fail tasks). You will have strict deadlines.

If you are familiar with the tools, the workload can be significantly less.

Part 1: Microsoft Office tools, Word
Part 2: Microsoft Office tools: PowerPoint
Part 3: Microsoft Office tools: Excel

Other software needed during your studies (Snipping tool, Teams etc)

Further information

You need a headset (with a microphone) to attend. In addition, you need a smartphone or webcam to record videos.

Mac users need to do a bit more work since we are using material prepared on Windows. However, it is possible to study with a mac also.

1-5

Assessment methods and criteria

You need to do all the tasks in the given time frame to pass this course. Missing a deadline will reduce your final grade, no exceptions made.

You will have 3 evaluated tasks (1-5). If you meet all the deadlines, the average of these three tasks will be your final grade.
