Content

Do you know the challenges and opportunities of ecological sustainability and biodiversity in the forestry field?
Do you know the restrictions and possibilities of nature management?
Do you know how to promote ecological sustainability and biodiversity?

Course material

The study material for the study course is in Learn.
The teaching utilizes Tapio's nature management materials and digital forest management recommendations, as well as Metsäkeskus' nature management materials (e.g. spatial data on the objects of the Forest Act). In addition to these, we study the METSO program and forest certification issues with the help of electronic material.

Study forms and methods

Work-integrated learning path:

The course consists of the next few days and independent learning tasks with the help of online material. The next few days consist of both lecture and field teaching.
Instructions for independent exercises will be given in the next few days.
The course consists of contact teaching (40%) and independent study (60%).

RDI and work-related cooperation

During the study period, a nature management expert from Metsäkeskus will visit.

Timing of exams and assignments

Returning learning assignments by the deadline.
The field test and the written test (online test) are in Learn.
The date of the exams will be announced at the beginning of the study period.

International cooperation

Student workload

The student participates in the lesson, does the assignments and returns them on time.
The student does field exercises and assignments (online assignments) and prepares for exams. Completing the course requires the student to work 135 hours.
