Objective

Tunnet maapallon metsävarat ja niiden jakautumisen maanosiin ja ilmastovyöhykkeisiin.
Ymmärrät eri kasvillisuusvyöhykkeiden ekologian perusteet.
Tunnet eri maissa sovellettavia metsien hallinnan, hoidon ja käytön järjestelmiä.
Osaat toimia kansainvälisessä ympäristössä.

Content

Vuosittain toteutukselle valitaan kohdemaa, johon tutustutaan.
Millaiset ovat kohdemaan metsävarat, metsien omistus ja hallinto?
Millainen on kohdemaan metsäteollisuuden rakenne?
Millaista metsäteollisuustuotteiden kauppaa käydään Suomen ja kohdemaan välillä?
Millaista metsäalan yhteistyötä tehdään Suomen ja kohdemaan välillä?
Kuinka työskentelen kansainvälisessä työryhmässä?

Study forms and methods

The intensive study week will be organized in the fall semester of 2024. The theme for the intensive week will be agreed upon.
Before the intensive week, there are joint meetings and orientation tasks online. After the intensive week, reporting is online.

(In 2023, the intensive week was organized in week 42 in Germany in the Eberswalde region. The cooperation partner was the Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswald. The theme of the week is climate change.)

Further information

A maximum of 17 students can be accepted for the course. Priority is given to forestry degree students who are in their fourth year of study (no possibility to participate in the following year). The secondary selection criterion is academic success.
