How do you choose the most efficient and convenient mode of transportation.
How does transportation affect the quality of wood?
How to ensure the effective use of resources in wood procurement?

Demonstrated in a lecture and on the course's Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

The course consists of lectures, exercises and field exercises. In the course, we delve into forestry logistics methods and logistics as part of the wood procurement chain. Part of the course is the role of private roads in wood procurement.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course is attended by representatives of employers and stakeholders as guest lecturers, e.g. from Skall and Uittoyhdistys.

Lecture exam at the end of the course.

The student's workload in the course is 135 hours. It consists of lectures, exercises and field exercises.

Course part description

Planning and control of harvesting and wood transport. Forest roads and other wood transport routes. Transport entrepreneurship. Transportation control systems. Floating and rail and road transport.
