Objective

You are familiar with Xamk's student writing guidelines and ethical practices.
You are able to search for reliable sources and use them in your studies.
You are familiar with the Xamk source reference and know how to use it in your studies.
You will increase your understanding of communication and interaction situations and the role of culture in communication.
You can use what you have learned in communication situations in Finnish at the A1.2-1.3 level.

What ethical principles guide student writing?
What are the guidelines for student writing at Xamk?
Miten etsit oman alan tietoa?
How do you mark references in your study assignments?
How do you deal with different communication and interaction situations?

Course material

Study materials compiled and made by the teacher and students can be found on the Learn platform and in the Teams application of the course.

Study forms and methods

Work Week-Based Learning Pathway:
You will study according to the rules of procedure and the tasks defined by the teacher, some of which are online.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course involves the practice of field-specific vocabulary and communication situations.

Timing of exams and assignments

Tasks and exams must be done during the course.

International cooperation

The course includes participants from different countries, cultures and people who speak different languages. We will familiarise ourselves with Finnish practices and discuss other practices.

Student workload

The student's workload is 2 x 27 h, or 54 hours.

Assessment methods and criteria

Communication and reporting (2 ECTS):
Written and oral assignments related to lectures, individual and group work, tests, and student activity.
Teacher's assessment, self-assessment and peer review.
The assessment of the course emphasizes the criteria b -– f.
