You can use and apply professional concepts of pedagogical leadership extensively and proficiently.
You can recognize characteristics features of leadership in pedagogically orientated work community.
You can reflect critically workplace management and leadership practices from the view of pedagogy.
You can apply the pedagogical management and leadership concepts in work life.

Content

What does pedagogical leadership mean in different types of work community?
How can work community practices been pedagogically analyzed and developed?
How can work community been understood as learning environment?
How could pedagogical leadership be applied in the change of work life?

Course material

The course material is partly available in the Learn learning environment and is announced at the beginning of the course. The study material used in the learning tasks is retrieved independently.

Study forms and methods

• The course is implemented as contact teaching online, which includes online small group work and independent work. During the course, group discussions will explore issues of pedagogical leadership by analyzing the application possibilities of the approach in work communities.
• Studying takes place in the Learn environment. Access to the course platform will open in early September. Participation in the course requires, in addition to an internet connection, a video and audio connection.
• Assessed assignment can be completed independently or in pairs. Assignment must be returned within the given schedule.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The contact teaching tasks of the course are based on the assessment of working life practices. The course aims to develop working life by applying pedagogical leadership. The course can be completed, where applicable, in cooperation with RDI at Juvenia, the Youth Research and Development Centre.

Timing of exams and assignments

The course will include an essay-style learning assignment that will be completed by November 30th at the end of the course.

Student workload

The workload of the course is 135 hours, of which 24 hours are contact teaching and 111 hours are independent work.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment is made in relation to the learning objectives and assessment criteria of the course. Successful completion of the course requires participation in contact teaching and completion of the course assignments. The course is assessed on the basis of a learning assignment completed individually, in pairs or in a small group, which can be, for example, a work community analysis or a development plan.
