Objective
You know the current state of the environment, but on the other hand, understand the challenges and expected changes. You know the most important methods used for environmental monitoring. You are able to identify changes in environmental factors and the interactions between them. You also learn to acquire the collected environmental data from different sources. You are familiar with new technologies and methods for monitoring the state of the environment.

How is the current state of our environment and what are the changes in the future?
Who produces monitoring information and how is the information used?
What kind of different sample types and sites are there?

Opiskelumateriaali julkaistaan Learn-ympäristössä opintojakson alkaessa.
Study forms and methods
Toteutus sisältää kaksi lähiopetuskertaa Mikkelin kampuksella ja lisäksi aikaan sidottua työskentelyä verkkoympäristössä. Lähiopetusta annetaan pääosin arkipäivinä klo 8-16 välillä, mutta toteutukseen sisältyy myös opetusta viikonloppuna.
Opintojakso etenee ryhmän yhteisen aikataulun mukaisesti. Opintojakso sisältää luentoja ja tuntitehtäviä.
RDI and work-related cooperation
Opintojaksolla toteutetaan työelämä yhteistyötä mahdollisuuksien mukaan.
Timing of exams and assignments
Opintojaksolla tehdään oppimispäiväkirja, jota työstetään koko kurssin ajan. Oppimispäiväkirja arvioidaan. Opintojaksolla ei ole tenttiä.
International cooperation

Student workload
1 op vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Työmäärä kuitenkin riippuu opiskelutaidoista ja aiemmasta osaamisesta.
5 op:n opintojaksolla opiskelijan työmäärä on n. 135 h, josta n. 30 h on työjärjestyksen mukaisesti luentoja ja muuta työskentelyä opettajan ohjauksessa sekä n. 105 h itsenäisesti työstettäviä oppimistehtäviä, joihin myös oppimispäiväkirja lukeutuu.
