Objective

You can perform calculations using different representations of numbers.
You can present arguments in a valid manner.
You can combine sets algebraically.
You are able to utilize sequences and series, and understand combinatorics.

Content

How are numbers represented in different number systems, and how are they used in calculations?
What is logic and valid reasoning?
How are sets and relations defined, combined, and described?
How does abstract algebra, especially Boolean algebra, function?
How are sequences and series utilized?
How do combinations and permutations function in problem solving?

You work on your own time table. You can find guidance and tasks on Learn. Reading the course book and doing additional tasks on Learn. Especially you solve the graded assignments. You upload your reports in two phase, in the middle of the course and at the end of the course.

Timing of exams and assignments

Weekly tasks during the course time on free spacing. Two reports, one in the middle of the course and the other at the end of the course.

135 h self study from the book guided by Learn notes. Weekly tasks and returned assignments into the reports.

Assessment methods and criteria

The two reports in which solved tasks give 0-2 points each. Mastering the topic and showing that in writing.
