Objective

You know the operating principles of computer hardware and its components.
You have the basic skills of using operating systems.
You know how to install software to a computer.
You can use the terminology related to computer technology.
You can write reports on computer environments.

Content

How do computer components function?
How are the Linux and Windows operating systems installed into a computer system?
How are the operating systems of computers used and how are applications installed?
How is the command line interface of operating systems used?
How is virtualization used?

Study forms and methods

Scheduled track:
Course contains study materials, guided laboratory exercises and written reports. Laboratory exercises are done in small groups in classroom.

Blended track:
It is possible to study the material and do the exercises without attending to the laboratory classes. This needs to be agreed with the teacher before hand.

Student workload

135 hours, of which 60 hours are worked in the labs. Rest of the time is used for self study, report writing and exam preparations.
