Finnish communication skills (5 cr)

Objective

You can act appropriately in various communication situations.
You are familiar with Xamk's instructions for written assignments and know how to make use of them.
You are able to search reliable information and use it ethically.
You can read and interpret expert texts and combine their content with your own text.
You know how to write texts that meet the standards for layout, content and style required in your studies and in the world of work.
You can prepare and deliver a coherent and appropriate expert presentation.
You can give and receive feedback and use it in your own learning.

What role do communication and interaction play in your studies and the world of work?
What interaction skills are required in your own studies and in your future profession?
How do you search reliable information from different sources and use it ethically?
Which written skills (genres, styles, tools) should you master?
How do you explain your views appropriately in standard language?
How do you prepare and deliver a spoken presentation?
How do you assess your own presenting skills and manage stage fright?
What skills do you need in different group communication situations?
How do you give feedback and use feedback from others?

Study forms and methods

Tämä toteutus on monimuotototeutus, jossa on sekä kampusopetusta että verkko-opetusta. Opintojakso koostuu luokkahuoneessa tapahtuvasta opiskelusta sekä suullisista ja kirjallisista harjoitustehtävistä, joita tehdään myös oppituntien ulkopuolella.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Opintojakso kehittää yleisesti työelämässä tarvittavia taitoja.

Timing of exams and assignments

Opintojakso sisältää useita arvioitavia tehtäviä. Toteutuksella tehdään yksi verkkotentti.

Student workload

1 op vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Työmäärä kuitenkin riippuu opiskelutaidoista ja aiemmasta osaamisesta.
