Course material

The study material is on the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

The course is conducted on campus and as independent studying online. It begins with orientation days, which are mandatory.

- Learn - Digital learning environment. Access to the course in Learn is available on the course start date.
- Independent assignments, group work and online exams.
- All assignments must be submitted according to the given schedule.
- Teacher guidance is available during classroom teaching.
- Students receive assessments for their learning assignments and exams.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course introduces some healthcare organizations and professional associations.

Timing of exams and assignments

Learning assignments must complete within the given schedule.

- The study and workplace skills section includes assessable assignments.
- The social and healthcare environment section includes an exam.
- The nursing ethics section includes an assessable assignment.

The course ends on the date specified in the implementation details, by which all learning assignments and exams must be completed.

A failed exam or assignment can be retaken a maximum of two times during the course's validity period.

International cooperation

The study course introduces Finnish culture and the social and healthcare service system.

Student workload

The study period has 5 ECTS = 135 hours, of which 55 hours are face-to-face teaching. There are 80 hours of independent study.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment is based on the learning objectives and evaluation criteria of the course.

To complete the course, all learning assignments and exams must be passed. A minimum of 50% of the maximum points must be achieved in assignments and exams.

Assignments and the exam are graded on a pass/fail scale.
