Objective

• You are familiar with a wide range of current issues in mental health care and can use your knowledge in developing management practices.

Content

• What are the most important current issues in mental health nursing on the regional, national and international level?
• How do you utilize predictions and recently updated information in developing management practices in mental health nursing?

Course material

Study materials are provided by the teacher in class or via the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

The course is carried out entirely by way of unscheduled online study, but it also has scheduled online lessons. The scheduled online lessons entail work in groups and require active participation. Participation in scheduled online lessons is mandatory. Participation in the start session is mandatory. The teacher provides guidance during scheduled online lessons and studies are carried out on the Learn platform. Access to the platform opens on the starting day of the course. In addition to having an internet connection, the students must also have a video and audio connection during online lessons.
Progress is made by completing assignments individually/in groups and taking an exam/exams. The assessed assignments are completed individually/in groups/in pars. The assignments must be submitted by the given deadlines.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Guest lectures will be given by representatives from the world of work.

The assignments are based on the needs of operators in the field.
Assignments can be completed with reference to tasks given by one’s employer or in connection to developing a product.

Timing of exams and assignments

Specify the scheduling of assignments and exams. An assignment must be completed at the end of each section of the course. The end date of the course is presented in the course details. By this date, the student must submit all assignments, take the required exams and meet all other conditions set for an approved course completion. The course is completed by assignments that are assessed according to specified criteria.

Student workload

1 ECTS credits equals 27 hours of work by the student.
In a 5-credit course, the students workload is approximately 135 hours including lessons, group work and independent study.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student’s performance is assessed with reference to the learning objectives and assessment criteria of the course. The course completion requires that all assignments are assessed with a passing grade.
