You can describe the supply chain of a company.
You can explain the importance of the supply chain for a company's profitability.
You can demonstrate that you are familiar with a company's logistics system.
You can describe the importance of ERP on the supply chain and use its essential functions.
You can assess the sustainability of a company's supply chain and suggest improvements where applicable.

How does a company's supply chain work?
How important is the supply chain for a company's profitability?
How does a company's logistics system operate?
How important is ERP for the supply chain design, and how are its essential functions used?
How sustainable is a company's supply chain, and are improvements applicable?

Study forms and methods

When the course is over, students should be able to:
(1) explain the basic concepts of supply chain management
(2) have a basic understanding of supplier selection and supplier network configuration process
(3) understand critical operational issues in the supply chain, such as logistics, TQM, inventory management and demand management process
(4) understand integration issues in the supply chain
(5) have a basic understanding of why sustainability thinking is crucial in the supply chain

RDI and work-related cooperation

During the course, you will,
(1) solve real-life business cases using supply chain management thinking
(2) develop solutions to SCM-related problems faced by the organization of your choice.

Timing of exams and assignments

The maximum number of points obtainable from the course is 100, which comprises theme-based tasks and a group project.

Student workload

One credit equals 27 hours. Students input in class and individual assignments approx. 135 hours.

The course is conducted only in a classroom setting, F2F teaching.

Assessment methods and criteria

30 points - report and presentation
10 points - self and peer assessment
20 points - participation in class discussions and the team effort
30 points - 5 quizzes, 6 points each
10 points - NBF assignment
