Objective

You can apply your medical ward competence in providing specialised medical care to internal medicine patients.
You deepen your professional competence in medical wards in the following diseases: blood diseases, liver diseases, anemia, infectious diseases.
You can assess, plan and carry out the medication of patients in medical wards.
You are able to guide patients in medical wards and support their commitment to nursing.
You understand the significance of the family in supporting rehabilitation.
You are able to make independent decisions as part of the total care of a patient in medical wards.
You can work as a member in a multidisciplinary and multiprofessional team.
You can utilize evidence-based information to nursing in medical wards.

How do you apply your medical ward competence tin specialised medical care?
How do you deepen your professional competence in medical wards in the following diseases: blood diseases, liver diseases, anemia, infectious diseases?
How do you assess, plan and carry out the medication of patients in medical wards?
How do you guide patients in medical wards so that they are committed to nursing and able to act safely promoting their own rehabilitation?
How do you take into account a patient’s family in supporting rehabilitation?
How do you make independent decisions as part of nursing in medical wards?
How do you work as a member in a multidisciplinary and multiprofessional team?
How do you utilize evidence-based information in nursing in medical wards?

Course material

Material on the Learn platform.

Study forms and methods

4 ECTS online independent study using the materials and learning tasks provided/assigned on the learning platform. The learning platform includes lecture materials and recordings. It does not include time- and place-based teaching.

1 credit simulation (compulsory participation) and preparation.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Examples from working life will be used in exercises and simulations.

Timing of exams and assignments

On the course learning platform Learn, there is a learning task(s) for each section, which must be successfully completed before the end of the course.

The course exam will be taken in Exam before the end of the course.

Student workload

Online learning 4 credits (108 h).
Simulation on the student's own campus one day (8 h) + preparation for the simulation (total 1 credit)

1 credit corresponds to about 27 hours of student work.
However, the amount of work depends on the study methods and
previous knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment of the online part on a scale of 1-5.
Simulation plan approved / to be completed.
Active 100% attendance in the simulation. The simulation exercise cannot be replaced by a learning task.
