Objective

You have the mathematic skills necessary in the most common problem solving situations. You are able to apply them especially in decision making and when describing different phenomena in business or economics. You are able to solve problems concerning investments and finance. You are able to utilize a spreadsheet as an instrument to help with calculation and demonstration.

Content

How are taxes and profitability calculated? Why and how are indices used to describe the phenomena in business and economics? How do currencies affect the different factors in economy? What are simple interest and compound interest, and how to calculate them? What kinds of financial instruments are available? How can the profitability of investments be measured?
