Objective
You become familiar with the Finnish service system for child protection and legislation.
You identify different life situations of children and families and are able to assess the need for child protection.
You know the principles of child's best interest.
You identify the stages of the child protection process.
You become familiar with the ethical principles, work orientations and methods of working with children, young people and families.

What can cause the need for child protection?
What do the principles of child's best interest involve?
What is the process of client work like in child protection work?
How is child protection carried out?

Course material
Materiaali tarjotaan e-kirjoina kurssialustalla.
Study forms and methods
Opetus pitää sisällään luentoja, tehtäviä, harjoituksia. Kurssilla ei ole erillistä aloitusinfoa, vaan se alkaa suoraan luennoilla lastensuojelusta. Kurssitehtävät ja muut kurssin oleelliset tiedot jaetaan opiskelijoille nauhoitteena etukäteen.
Vähintään 2 vuotta lastensuojelun työkokemusta omaavilla on mahdollista hakea osaamisen näyttöä.
