You become familiar with the Finnish service system for child protection and legislation.
You identify different life situations of children and families and are able to assess the need for child protection.
You know the principles of child's best interest.
You identify the stages of the child protection process.
You become familiar with the ethical principles, work orientations and methods of working with children, young people and families.
Content
What legislation applies to child protection?
What is the service system of child protection?
What can cause the need for child protection?
What do the principles of child's best interest involve?
What is the process of client work like in child protection work?
How is child protection carried out?
What are the values and principles directing child protection?
Course material
Opiskelumateriaali tarjotaan kurssipohjassa e-versioina.
Study forms and methods
Työviikkopohjainen oppimisväylä:
Opintojakso pitää sisällään luentoja, worshopin, seminaarin, simullatioharjoitukset sekä oppimistehtäviä. Opintojaksolla edellytetään läsnäoloa kaikilla lähiopetustunneilla. Vaihtoehtona on ottaa asiat haltuun kirjallisten tehtävien kautta.
Osaamisen näyttö: Vähintään kaksi vuotta lastensuojelutyötä tehneille.
RDI and work-related cooperation
Yhteistyö työelämän kanssa: vierailijakäynnit ja työelämän kanssa yhteinen seminaari.
Timing of exams and assignments
Tarkempi aikataulu ilmoitetaan Learnissa opintojakson alussa.
Student workload
135 h. Tästä iso osa itsenäistä työskentelyä. Tarkempi erittely kurssipohjassa kurssin alettua.
