Study forms and methods

Teaching is primarily conducted as in-person classes at the Kotka campus according to the schedule. Remote participation is not possible except during times specifically indicated otherwise. In-person classes are not typically recorded, nor are they replaced by remote lectures when in-person teaching is scheduled.

In addition to campus facilities, learning takes place in the Learn environment. Access to the course platform opens on the course start date.

The course follows a portfolio-based model, where the grade is determined by the number of tasks the student chooses to include in the portfolio. This allows students to influence the workload of the course themselves. For more information, see the section -> Exams and Other Deadlines!

The assessable tasks are completed independently, in groups, or in pairs. All tasks must be submitted according to the given schedule.

RDI and work-related cooperation

The course may include guest appearances from industry professionals, either in the form of pre-recorded videos or as visiting lecturers on campus.

Timing of exams and assignments

The course does not include an exam.

The course follows a portfolio-based model, where the grade is determined by how many tasks the student chooses to include in the portfolio. This allows students to influence the course workload themselves. The portfolio is assessed on a pass/fail basis, and the course grade is determined by the content of the portfolio, based on the evaluation criteria explained in detail during the course.

The course ends on the date specified in the course schedule. By this deadline, all learning tasks, exams, and other course-related assignments must be completed.
