You know the possibilities of multi-use of forests and know how they relate to the economic use of forests.
You understand the principles of carbon cycle in the forest ecosystem.

What is game-oriented forest management?
How does carbon cycle in the forest ecosystem?
How do forests work as carbon sinks?

Course material

Addressed in the online environment of the course (Learn) and in lectures.

Study forms and methods

The course is carried out by way of contact teaching on Mikkeli campus and in the field according to the schedule. Remote participation is not possible. In-person teaching is generally not recorded and is not replaced by remote lectures when in-person teaching is scheduled. Part of the teaching takes place in the field. Teacher guidance is available during in-person sessions.

Assessable tasks are completed independently, in groups, or as pair work. Various feedback methods are utilized in the course, such as written and oral feedback. Peer feedback may also be used.

Timing of exams and assignments

An assignment must be completed at the end of each section of the course. An exam must be taken in the last scheduled lesson.

1 ECTS credits equals 27 hours of work by the student.
• In a 5-credit course, the student's total maximum workload is approximately 135 hours including lessons, group work and independent study.
