Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- proactive maintenance, measuring instruments, tools and methods, diagnostic techniques
- consider safety factors
- identify and apply electrical safety requirements in the field of ship power

Evaluation

Students can
- evaluate information sources critically
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- maintenance activities are correctly planned in accordance with technical, legislative, safety and procedural specifications
- inspection, testing and troubleshooting of equipment are appropriate
