Objective
Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in the:
- assessment of patients' needs and threats to safety
- appreciation of body structure and functions
- understanding of immediate measures to be taken in cases of emergency, including the ability to appropriately position the patient and control bleeding, and apply resuscitation techniques, measures of basic shock management, burns and scalds treatment including accidents caused by electric current as well as patient rescue and transport methods
- improvisation of bandages and use of materials in the emergency kit
- prevention of further harm and minimization of risks

- human anatomy and bodily functions
- assessment of vital bodily functions
- recognition of unconsciousness and related first aid
- recognition of lifelessness and basic resuscitation techniques
- injury locating and assessment
- support measures for injured limbs and spine
- control measures for bleeding, pressure dressing and tourniquet
- appropriate measures for basic shock treatment and management
- recognition of unbalanced blood glucose levels and appropriate treatment
- appropriate measures for burns and scalds, including accidents caused by electric current
- rescue and transport of patients
- situational awareness, recognition of changing patient conditions and fist aid
- emergency response
