Objective
• Vahvistat osaamistasi palliatiivisen hoidon ja saattohoidon prosessista ja osaat toimia hoitajana palliatiivisen ja saattohoidossa olevan asiakkaan / potilaan hoitotyössä
• Tunnistat palliatiivisen ja saattohoito asiakkaan / potilaan fyysisiä, psyykkisiä ja psykososiaalisia oireita ja osaat toimia oireita ja asiakkaan / potilaan tilannetta helpottaen
• Vahvistat osaamistasi palliatiivisen hoidon ja saattohoidon asiakkaan / potilaan lähtökohdista; luopumisesta, surusta ja kuolemasta ja kykenet kohtaamaan vaikeassa elämäntilanteessa olevan ihmisen ja tämän läheiset
• Tunnistat monialaisen yhteistyön merkityksen ja osaat hyödyntää muita ammattilaisia ja tukihenkilöitä asiakkaan / potilaan hoidossa
• Saat työvälineitä oman työssä jaksamisen ja eettisen kuorman tunnistamiseen ja työssä jaksamiseen

• Palliatiivisen hoidon ja saattohoidon prosessi ja palvelujärjestelmä
• Oireenmukainen palliatiivinen hoito, saattohoito ja psykososiaalinen tukeminen
• Luopuminen, suru, käsitykset kuolemasta ja kuinka kohdata sureva, kuoleva ja hänen läheisensä
• Monialainen yhteistyö palliatiivisessa hoidossa ja saattohoidossa
• Työntekijän saattohoitotyössä jaksaminen, jaksamisen tukeminen ja työntekijän suru

We mainly make use of e-books and online material.
Study forms and methods
The course is fully implemented online. The course is structured to give you basic professional knowledge for client- and family-oriented care of palliative and hospice patients. The course updates the concepts of palliative and hospice care, the service system, symptom treatment and examines perceptions of death, grief and abandonment.
The course has subject-opening learning assignments, independent study and competence-scale Learn final exam.
Completion of the course requires approved completion of all part of the course.

Course part description
The process and service system of palliative care and hospice care
· Symptomatic palliative care, hospice care and psychosocial support
· Abandonment, grief, perceptions of death and how to face the bereaved, the dying and their loved ones
· Multidisciplinary collaboration in palliative care and hospice care
· Coping with the employee's hospice work, supporting coping and the employee's grief

Target group: recommended especially for those already in health care, but also suitable for anyone interested in the subject.
This implementation is intended for both open university students and degree students. The course is excellently suited for elective studies as a nurse, paramedic, public health nurse and geronomie for students
The course begins with common information, presenting the course, methods of implementation and assessment. Info's February date will be announced to enrolled and accepted students well in advance of the start of the course. A recording of the info will also be made if necessary.
