Objective

You can plan, implement and assess the follow-up of growth and development of schoolchildren and young people in cooperation with the clients.

What is public health nursing for schoolchildren, young people and their families and how is it implemented?
What is student health care?
How do you assess the growth and development of schoolchildren and young people?

Course material

The practice is supported by material shown in theory classes.

Study forms and methods

Practical training in school or student health care (6 ECTS = 4 weeks) and occupational health care (6 ECTS = 4 weeks).

Alternatively, an internship in occupational health care can be completed in student health care or in the reception work of a nurse at a health centre. In this case, the training includes a separate task linked to the matters of occupational health care.

RDI and work-related cooperation

Training takes place in practical work.

Timing of exams and assignments

Filling out and returning training-related documents in accordance with the instructions agreed upon at the beginning of the training sessions and/or the beginning of the training.

Course part description

Practical training in school or student health care (6 ECTS = 4 weeks)
Practical training in occupational health care (6 ECTS = 4 weeks).

Further information

It is required that Clinical Nursing I and II and Clinical Nursing Practices 1-4 are successfully completed. Theory studies in maternity and child health clinic work completed. Advanced vaccination knowledge and medical bills 4 passed before the start of the training.

Accepted performance requires demonstration of sufficient competence in practical work
Documentation done in accordance with a separate workseed assessment book.
Appraisal on a scale accepted- to be completed - rejected
