Objective

You can actively use the key structures and vocabulary to manage in various  spoken and written communication situations in your professional field. You can use essential health care vocabulary well enough to manage in differet communication situations related to work. You understand texts in your professional field and are able to find the essential contents of the text.

Content

What is the key professional vocabulary you need in different communication situations at work? How do you use the language in different patient and client situations? How do you explain examinations, treatment or self-care in English? How do you look for information in professional texts and apply it in your work? How do different cultural backgrounds affect spoken and written communication ?  

Qualifications

Attending the course requires English skills enabling academic studies. 

Assessment criteria, good (3)

a) You can systematically use the the key vocabulary of the field. c) You manage oral and written communication situations with customers, users and target groups. b) You can look for information in in the key information sources of the field.   In addition, the assessment of UAS English studies relies on the competence levels defined in the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages.
