Objective

You know what the components of different building automation systems are and how they work.
You understand how building automation systems can influence the operation of technical systems in buildings.
You know the measurement and control techniques related to HVAC technology and can use your knowledge in the regulation, control and monitoring of various HVAC systems.
You can design the automation of simple HVAC systems.
You can work as a member of a team and detect problems and faults in the automation of HVAC equipment.

Content

What types of building automation systems exist, what components do they consist of and how do they work?
How can building automation systems influence the functioning and energy efficiency of technical systems in buildings?
How can the operation of HVAC systems be measured, adjusted, controlled and monitored?
How is the automation design of HVAC systems done with CAD software?
How can problems and faults in the automation of HVAC equipment be detected?

Qualifications

Completing the course requires knowledge of the basic concepts of automation and electrical engineering.

Accomplishment methods

Students can
a) use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations.
c) work as team members in working life expert duties and identify and describe the problems of the building automation system field.
e) choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices.
