Opiskelumateriaali julkaistaan Learn-ympäristössä opintojakson alkaessa.
Yksilölliset oppimisväylät
Toteutus sisältää 2 lähiopetuskertaa Mikkelin kampuksella ja lisäksi aikaan sidottua työskentelyä verkkoympäristössä. Lähiopetusta annetaan pääasiassa arkipäivinä. Opintojakso etenee ryhmän yhteisen aikataulun mukaisesti. Opintojakso sisältää ryhmätehtäviä.
TKI ja työelämäyhteistyö
Opintojaksolla toteutetaan mahdollisuuksien mukaan työelämäyhteistyötä esim. vierailijaluentojen muodossa.
Tentit ja muut määräajat
Opintojakson aikana tehdään ryhmissä eri osista koostuva projektitehtävä, joka palautetaan vaiheittain. Opintojakso päättyy tenttiin.
Kansainvälinen yhteistyö

Opiskelijan työmäärä
1 op vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Työmäärä kuitenkin riippuu opiskelutaidoista ja aiemmasta osaamisesta.
5 op:n opintojaksolla opiskelijan työmäärä on n. 135 h, josta n. 25 h on työjärjestyksen mukaisesti luentoja ja muuta työskentelyä opettajan ohjauksessa sekä n. 110 h erilaisia oppimistehtäviä.

Sinä tiedät EU:n ja Suomen jätepolitiikan ja –lainsäädännön pääperiaatteet, osaat kuvata jätehuollon nykytilan, sekä tunnet tärkeimmät yhdyskuntien jätehuoltotoiminnot. Osaat kuvata yleisimmät maaperän pilaantumista aiheuttavat toiminnot ja vierasaineiden leviämiseen ja ympäristön tilaan vaikuttavat tekijät. Osaat arvioida pilaantumisen määrän, ympäristö- ja terveysriskit, sekä tunnet keskeiset pilaantuneiden maiden kunnostusmenetelmät ja lainsäädännön.
