Objective

Knowledge and understanding of and proficiency in:
- operating programmable logic controllers and digital distributed automation systems
- designing and programming automated solutions and installations
- operating principles of control and monitoring equipment

Content

- measurable and adjustable quantities in processes
- applicable control modes
- block diagram of the control circuit
- behavior when adjusted
- tuning
- parameters and layout of different drive types
- connection to automation systems and field buses
(STCW A-III / 1 and A-III / 2)

Qualifications

Module: Electrical, electronic and control engineering at the operational level

Approved training during studies

Evaluation

Students can
- use professional vocabulary and concepts in an expert way in different situations
- choose appropriate models, methods, software and techniques according to the purpose and justify these choices
- apply critically the ethical principles of the professional field in different situations

In addition, competence evaluation according to STCW code table A-III/2 column 4 are used:
- operation of equipment and system is in accordance with operating manuals
- performance levels are in accordance with technical specifications
